My personal projects
In the little sparetime I have, I often start programming something that I think I
could use. Most of the time it becomes too complicated or it's easier to download
something that does what I want, or more. However, every now and then there's a
project that is worth mentioning.
Even though my heart lies with Linux, and not Windows, these programs are developed
under and for Windows (or DOS). The explanation lies amongst others in the following facts:
- Most scripting or utility like programs already exist or are easy to write under
Linux, so writing them is just a waste of time. If you want to use the same kind
of handy stuff in DOS or Windows, you often have to write it yourself.
- Developing a (fancy) application in Windows is quite easy and allows people to
concentrate on the idea of the application itself, not the implementation.
- When you write a program (partly) for someone else... you have to write it for
Windows (most people tend to 'use' Windows).
Because there's so little time to work on nice stuff, the projects will most
probably stay "in development" for a long time. You'll have to decide for yourself
wether you want to bother with browsing the subpages, or downloading the files.
The projects are listed below and in the bar on the left side of the screen. Each
project contains a short introduction, possibly with screenshots, depending on the
application or set of applications that it is about.

But also (older) DOS utilities that don't need Windows... |
Some projects are not ready to be released yet, or they are not in a convenient
package (i.e. you don't know what you can do with them, until there's some kind
of documentation). Most projects are in the "development" stage for a long time,
but you can read about it on the projectpage. Finally: a version number below
1 often means the program isn't finished yet, or it can become much better.
However, they do work and do what they are supposed to do.
If you download a package, please do not distribute it further without letting
people know where it came from. Mirroring this site is quite useless since my
provider is fast and reliable. What I wouldn't like is to see older versions of
my programs on other people's pages.
